About

Research

I am a PhD researcher at the Institute for Sustainability Psychology of Leuphana University Lüneburg. I work on the Horizon research project „Impetus4Change“ (I4C), where I study how climate information is created, shared, and used among cities at various levels of governance and decision-making. I also support the transdisciplinary co-production of the climate services within I4C – for example, by leading working groups at I4C’s „Adaptalabs„, where scientists and practitioners create climate adaptation solutions. In my PhD, I study how people perceive extreme weather and climate risks, and how these perceptions are shaped by extreme weather experiences, climate information, and pre-existing beliefs such as political orientation and general climate change beliefs.

Practical Experience

From 2019 to 2023, I worked for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), where I worked within the Climate, Migration and Resilience Team. In this role, I co-led the IFRC’s engagement in the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance, a multi-sectoral partnership focused on enhancing resilience to climate hazards in both rural and urban communities. My work spanned programme coordination, knowledge management, applied research, and impact measurement and reporting, supporting the Red Cross National Societies in ten countries. I led the development of knowledge products and training materials, including an e-learning course on climate science and action for practitioners, and supported applied research on the 2021 flood in Western Europe.
